Ordering

I want to order! How does it work?

I work on a weekly pre-order basis to ensure you are always getting the best and freshest product. Each week I restock my website on a Wednesday 7:30pm and close it for the week at 12pm Sunday, or when I reach my capacity for the week, whichever comes first.  Your treats are then ready for dispatch or collection on the following Monday. 

What can I order?

Each week I offer a special mixed box of keto slices as well as other raw and baked items.  The mixed boxes contain four flavours of my choosing which change every week. I also have single flavour options available each week that you can order in an 8 piece box as well as muffins, cookie pies and other delicious keto items! 

Can I change out items in my special mixed box?

Mixed boxes are a set combination and no changes are able to be made.

Can I order items that are not part of the weekly mixed or single flavour specials?

Absolutely! When I can make them will depend on my capacity for that week but I will always try my best to fit in all that I can.  If you have a special request please email me and we can work something out!

Can I enjoy your slices if I’m not on a keto diet?

Absolutely! Keto, low carb or just looking to reduce the amount of  sugar in your life, our products are perfect for you and anyone who enjoys delicious food.

Where are your products made?

We make all of our products in our commercial kitchen located in Albany.  We have an A rating from Auckland Council so you can rest assured that everything is clean, hygienic and safe

Are your products gluten free?

All of the ingredients we use in our baking are naturally free from gluten. However, some are produced in factories that also produce products that do contain gluten, and as such, we cannot guarantee that trace amounts of gluten will not be present. If you are severely allergic to gluten our product may not be for you.

Are your products safe for diabetics?

All of our products are extremely low in carbohydrates. The sweeteners we use have a zero or close to zero, glycemic index rating, so have no effect on blood sugar levels.  If unsure about whether this product is right for you, a chat with your GP is highly recommended first.

Are your products safe when pregnant, breastfeeding or for children?

Our products are made with high quality, natural ingredients that are nutritious and safe for almost anyone to enjoy. If you have any concerns, talking with your GP is always recommended.

What sweeteners do you use?

I like to use a mixture of the sweeteners below, depending on what I am making. They are all naturally occurring so you can be sure you’re not consuming a bunch of random numbers or man made chemicals.

Allulose - this is a very rare natural sugar that is not metabolised in the same way as table sugar. It has very few calories, has no glycemic index and produces negligible increases in blood glucose or insulin levels. 

Erythritol - this is a sugar alcohol that is naturally occurring, has almost zero calories, no glycemic index and no effect on blood sugar or insulin

Stevia - is a naturally occurring sweetener derived from the Stevia Rebaudiana plant. It has zero calories, no glycemic index and no effect on blood sugar or insulin

Thaumatin or Katemfe Fruit - this is a naturally occurring protein that gives flavour and sweetness. It has very low calories, no glycemic index and no effect on blood sugar or insulin

Xylitol - while I don't use  this raw ingredient myself, it is the sweetener used in the Vitawerx chocolates that I use.  Xylitol is another keto sweetener that has a very low glycemic index and doesn't raise blood sugars.  However it is poisonous to dogs so please, don't share with your furry friends. 

I use sweeteners sparingly, so my products tend to be very gentle on the stomach.  However, like all sugar substitutes you need to be aware that over consumption may lead to a laxative effect in some people.

Do you supply macros for your products?

All macros can be found by clicking on the slice you're interested in. They have been calculated using My Fitness Pal and the standard ingredients I cook with. All figures have been rounded up to allow for occasional changes in brands used and to leave me some room for creativity!  Please use them as a guide only.

How big are your products?

They are very generous! Our slices are approximately 4.5cm x 7cm - the pieces are easily big enough to cut in half.

How should I keep my products?

Our slices are very temperature sensitive and best enjoyed straight from the fridge or freezer.  Muffins are best kept in the freezer and taken out as needed so that they stay fresh.  Cookie pies can be kept in an airtight container out of the fridge for up to 5 days.  They can also be kept in the fridge or freezer to extend their life.

How long will they last?

Slices: In an airtight container they will last up to 2 weeks in your fridge and 6 weeks in the freezer, if you can make them last that long without eating them!
Muffins: In an airtight container 4 weeks in the freezer
Cookie Pies: In an airtight container, up to 5 days out of the fridge.  Up to 7 days in the fridge and up to 3 months in the freezer


Pickup & Delivery

What is your pick up and courier schedule?

All couriered packages will be collected and on their way to you on Monday unless there is a public holiday in which case they will be sent on Tuesday. This ensures you have your order nice and early in the week. You will receive an email when your package is collected from me so that you know when to expect your goodies to arrive!

Pick up items are ready on a Monday of the week following your order. You will receive an email with pick up information when they're ready to collect.

Pick up is between 10am-2pm Monday to Wednesday and 10am to 7pm Thursday. 

Pick up is by appointment so please be sure to text or email to let us know when you'd like to pop in.  

How do you package for courier?

We freeze all of our products then use woolpack liners and gel ice packs from Planet Protector Packaging to keep product cold in overnight transit. This packaging method is able to keep pre-frozen products below 5 degrees C for up to 48 hours and 7 degrees C for up to 72 hours, ensuring your products arrive in perfect condition.

What are your courier charges and how does it work?

We use NZ Couriers to service our standard and rural/non-standard addressed customers. 

NZ COURIERS
North Island standard address:
$10 for up to 2 boxes of product
$12.50 for 3 and above

Rural/Non-standard address:
$15 Flat

South Island standard address:
$10 for up to 2 boxes of product
$20 for 3 and above

Rural/Non-standard address:
$15 Flat

If you're a South Island customer it is definitely worth ordering in bulk to save on courier costs! Remember, everything freezes and lasts exceptionally well.

What if the courier doesn’t arrive overnight?

No need to panic! While all care is taken to ensure an overnight delivery, sometimes couriers don’t pull through with their end of the deal and sometimes, that's just what happens with a rural address. The packaging we use will keep the product cool for 48-72 hours so your goods should still arrive in perfect condition, albeit slightly later than we all hoped for.

Unfortunately once the product has been collected we are unable to guarantee what will happen to it. We  send out couriered items no later than a Tuesday just in case an overnight fails, so that a Friday delivery is still available.  When you select courier as an option you are acknowledging that you understand and accept the possibility of a slightly delayed delivery.

In the exceptionally rare case that an item does not arrive by close of business Friday, we will treat the package as being lost. Packages will not arrive over the weekend and if they do then arrive Monday the treats will have been too warm to safely consume. In this circumstance we will work with you to arrange a replacement, store credit or a refund.  In the case of a refund it will be for the cost of the items only, not the shipping. 

As stated above, if the delay is due to the incorrect shipping method being selected (standard or rural) then we will not be liable for any delayed products.

Due to Covid-19 and  the effects on supply chain and workforce, we reserve the right to alter our shipping policy at any time to minimise lost and/or delayed packages.  Any changes to where and how we ship will be clearly marked on the top of our website.  Any purchases made contrary to these recommendations will be made at the customers risk and we will not be liable for any lost or delayed items.
